As union members, we bargain collectively with our employers over wages, benefits, and rights. We have the best chance of receiving better wages, benefits and fair treatment in the workplace by bargaining collectively as a union. Most of us have very limited bargaining power as one person, but as a group, we are strong. And, with a good negotiated contract, we have legal protections we would not have otherwise. Local 2166 of the IBEW were granted a charter on December 1st, 1964.  We have been instrumental in many large and small projects since our charter. Some of the large projects we were Instrumental in – Construction of Mactaquac Dam, Belledune Power plant, Millbank and Saint Rose Gas Plants, and the Irving Grand River Pellets in Saint Leonard. Some upcoming large projects are: The Irving Wind Farm, Mactaquac Dam Upgrades, and the Belledune Power Plant Clean Energy Transition.
